About Our Founder – Tiera L. Moultrie

Tiera L. Moultrie is a devoted mother, passionate autism advocate, and the visionary behind Autism in the D. Her journey began during the height of covid when her oldest son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of three—a moment that ignited her mission to create more inclusive spaces and resources for Detroit families like hers.

With a background in entrepreneurship as a graphic and web designer, her children sparked a new career. Now with several years of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician and a background in Applied Behavior Analysis, Tiera blends professional expertise with lived experience to drive meaningful change. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in ABA at Wayne State University, graduating in December 2025.

What started as grassroots autism walks has grown into a thriving initiative, hosting sensory-friendly events, parent support groups, and advocating for better services in the community. Tiera’s ultimate goal is to open Detroit’s first adaptive and inclusive play gym by 2026—proving that with vision, grit, and heart, dreams can be built into reality.
